And a lack thereof is a movement-based piece of theatre, in which observations of daily, and often mundane, human behaviors are processed artistically then placed upon a stage. Consecutive musical selections feature Jon Brion, Aphex Twin, and Angelo Badalamenti, through which sixteen habits of humanity are expressed in both realistic and abstracted forms of movement. To call it dance is tempting, but the silent dialogue between actors and audience members rings more theatrical, allowing audience members of all languages the opportunity to watch themselves through an accentuated mirror.
And a lack thereof is most exciting because of its accessibility, its humor, its poignancy, and, quite simply, its great taste in music.
And a lack thereof is a project originated and choreographed by guest artist Kasey Foster, the seven-person cast brings together performers with disparate training and movement backgrounds.
